Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 is Srishti Rana of India
Miss Asia Pacific World 2013 is Srishti Rana of India. She is the second Indian to won this crown. Srishti Rana is 21 years old. Earlier, Miss Asia Pacific World title won by Himangini Singh Yadu in 2012, Dia Mirza in 2000, Tara Anne Fonseca in 1973, Zeenat Aman in 1970. Sirisha was a finalist of Femina Miss India 2013. She won the National Costume Award in an outfit depicting the National Bird of India – Peacock. She belongs to Haryana.


Utpal Bhadra has been Selected for Radhakrishnan Gold Medal
For the year 2013, Utpal Bhadra has been selected for Radhakrishnan Gold Medal by GEPRA (Global Economic Progress & Research Association). He is a senior scientist and ground leader for Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB). GEPRA is Chennai based research organisation engaged in academic research in economics and finance. He achieved this medal for his outstanding contribution in education and natural science development as a part of his research in the field of biotechnology and its related areas.


World’s first Bit coin ATM launched in Canada
Worlds first publicly accessible ATM Machine which can exchange digital currency (Bit coins) for any official currency has been launched in Canada. This was launched by group of young people. ATM Machine operated by Vancouver based Bitcoinjacs and Nevada based Robocoin. It converts Bit coins into Canadian dollars and vice versa. This was first installed in Vancouver Coffee shop, yesterday.


Vodafone India Launched M- Pesa Service
Vodafone India has provided M-Pesa service in Maharashtra. Company has launched this service in association with ICICI Bank. The service which provides customers, who register for its access to financial services through their cell phones, is extended in 286 tehsils in the state through 4080 trained authorised agents across Vodafone’s 387 exclusive retail stores. Nearly half of these will be in rural areas where banking facilities are not easily available. Company had already introduced this service in 7 African counties.


VAT Revenue of Haryana increased by 7.74%
VAT Revenue of Haryana increased by 7.74% for the period of April till September. Up to September 2013, collection of VAT is Rs.7635.85 crores which is 7.74% more as compared to that of the corresponding period last year. Till the month of August VAT collections of the state grew by 6.13%.


Third Unit of Bharat Dynamics Limited in Andhra Pradesh inaugurated
Bharat Dynamics Limited inaugurated its third unit in Andhra Pradesh. This is the first unit in Visakhapatnam. This inaugurated by GC Pati Secretary Defence Production of the Union Ministry of Defence. Headquarter of BDL is located in Hyderabad. Three units of the state are located at Kanchanbagh in Hyderabad, Bhanur in Medak district and third one is at Visakhapatnam.


CCEA approves Rs.500 crores for green Scheme
Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved IPDS (Integrated Processing Development Scheme) with a corpus of Rs.500 with the intension to make textile processing units more environments friendly and globally competitive.


All India Football Federation (AIFF) signed an agreement under ASOP with FFA
AIFF (All India Football Federation) signed an agreement under Australian Sports Outreach Program (ASOP) with FFA (Football Federation of Australia) with the intension to support AIFF’s Grassroots Programme. This agreement includes technical, administrative and financial support in the form of capability building within the state associations who at present are involved in the Grassroots Programme, Grassroots festivals and Grassroots Courses.


Radio Listeners are high in Bangalore
According to Ficci Deloitte Report, Radio listeners in Bangalore are high as compared with other cities such as Mumbai and Delhi. Bangalore people are spending more than 20hours a week in listening Radio. Delhi and Mumbai people are spending 13 to 14 hours a week. This report was released by Digital March Media and Entertainment in South India.


Bus burst after hits fuel tank 45 passengers burnt alive
In Mahabubnagar district of Andhra Pradesh, 45 passengers burnt alive when bus hits fuel tank. 50 passengers are travelling in the bus. 5 were able to escape form the bus including driver.


KPMG installed solar energy systems and Water Harvesting in Schools and Colleges
KPMG has taken initiative for environment sustainability in schools and colleges all over India. This initiative involves installation of 4 water harvesting structures and 13 solar energy systems in Kolkata, Chandigarh, Kochi, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahemadabad and Chennai. Intension of this project is to increase environmental awareness among students.


Sanjay Dutt’s Payroll period completed
Sanjay Dutt’s Payroll period completed and came back to Yerawada Jail. Dutt is serving his remaining 42 months term of his 5 years jail sentence for possessing illegal firearms which were used in Mumbai blasts in 1993.
